Lens plastic hazes from the outside in. Years of sun and road grit break down the factory coating, and the clear polycarbonate underneath goes yellow and cloudy. Sanding and polishing that layer back takes the haze off and returns the lens to clear — then it gets sealed, because bare polycarbonate with no coating will simply oxidise again.
Why It's Worth It
Brighter at night
A hazed lens scatters light instead of projecting it, so the beam goes short and dim long before the bulb does.
Far cheaper than replacing
Restoring a lens costs a fraction of a new assembly, and on many cars the housing isn't sold separately from the whole unit.
Sealed, not just polished
Polishing alone leaves bare plastic that clouds again within months. The sealant is what makes the result last.
How It Works
Assess the lens
Surface haze polishes out; cracking or internal moisture doesn't, and we'll say so before starting.
Mask and refine
The surrounding paint is masked, then the lens is sanded through grits and machine polished back to clear.
Seal it
A UV-protective sealant goes on so the plastic isn't left exposed the way the factory coating left it.
